由于受结构派和功能派影响，语法在我国外语教学中经历了从“过分强调”到“备受冷落”两种不同的境地，如何客观辨证地看待语法在外语教学中的地位和作用，以便使外语教学更有效，一直是个没有很好解决的问题。本文结合教学理论和实践从语法教学与教学对象、语法教学与教学目的、语法教学与课型三对关系探讨了语法教学的不同地位和作用，指出要提高外语教学的效率必须重视在语法教学上区别对待不同的教学对象、教学目的和课型，并就此提出了一些具体建议。

grammar-teaching changes from "over-emphasis" to " indifferent" in China's teaching procedure account for the efflence of structuralist and funationalist. The provblem of how to regard the function and status of grammar in teaching procedure, and make the teaching procedure much more effective is still not well resolved.
In this paper,I will discuss the relationship between teaching theory and teaching practise, grammar-teaching and teaching purpose, and grammar-teaching and the type of class, thus revel the status and funcations of various grammar-teaching .And point out that in order to improve the quality of teaching, teachers should focus on who will be teach, the purpose of teaching and the type of class according to the grammar-teaching procedure.
