Hallowe'en is on October 31 of each year. It is a legend that many spirits come out on that day. Kids dress up in hallowe'en costumes to scare away the spirits.
People in the western culture celebrate hallowe'en by having the kids dress up in costumes and knock on doors after dark and say "trick or treat", which the owner of the house will give the kids some candy or special treats.
People also celebrate it by decorating their houses and carving jack o'lanterns, which are pumpkins with carved faces, and lighting them up with candles placed on the inside.
It is a fun event and is enjoyed by everyone no matter what age you are.
