有限责任公司英语习惯上是在公司的名称下加Ltd, L'd，或Ld., 美语则使用Inc.(=Incorporated)如：
The British Tobacco co., Ltd.（英国烟草股份有限公司）
The American Products co, Inc. （美国物产股份有限公司）
美语与英语对于公司领导人的称谓也不同，我们通常说的公司"经理"，英语用manager，美语用Director；"总经理"英语是Managing-Director或Managing Director，美语则是Chief-Executive Officer；公司的"总裁""董事长"英语用Chairman，美语多用President。最应值得注意的是，表达"寄信""邮寄"之类的概念，英语用post，美语用mail。
