The fungus paecilomyces varioti appears as translucent cotton balls, which blanket the walls and pump screens of the anolyte system. The fungus will infest the linings of the anolyte storage tank, pipes, pumps, and anode cells.
Testing media for ‘Mother of Vinegar’ in Anolyte systems is not commercially available. However, testing media has been developed by DuPont Life Science Enterprise. Testing can be arranged through them by contacting the following:
