flourish除了可以说生意繁荣昌盛以外，还可说人健康幸福及动植物生长茂盛。它的近义词prosper就只是更倾向于说经济方面的繁荣，比如说the economy prospered。
Thrive也是前面两个词的近义词，跟flourish一样涵盖的范围更广一些，如形容生意，人，动植物都可以用thrive。我自己的感觉就是flourish & thrive之间，flourish强调的是一个状态，而thrive则说得是个过程。

flourish和thrive都可表示“繁荣、兴旺”，

其中flourish指健康地成长发展或处于发展的高峰； thrive主要指生长得健壮，引申为繁荣。
