早起舌苔白厚:很简单的英语

suggest vt 提出，提议，建议 suggestion n. (可数)

I suggest a useful book to him. (～sth)

I suggested (his) buying a useful book. [～(one's) doing sth]

I suggested (that) he (should) buy a useful book

[～(that) sb (should) do sth]

注：上句中suggest后的that从句采用的是虚拟语气，should可省。

I suggest when we should do it. (～wh- 从句)

另：advise (advice n.) 也有“提出忠告，建议”之意，注意归纳总结二
者用法上的区别：

The teacher advised an early start. (～sth)

The teacher advised that we should start early.

[～(that) sb (should) do sth]

The teacher advised (our) starting early. [～(one's)doing]

The teacher advised us to start early. （～sb to do）

The teacher advised us when to start. (～sb wh-to do)

由上可见suggest和advise 的前三种用法相同，而advise的第4和5种
用法都是suggest 所没有的。

特殊注意： 当suggest表示建议的时候，后面的从句要用虚拟语气，即suggest that sb. should do的形式；当suggest表示显示的时候，不用虚拟语气。如：He suggested that we should leave at once. The smile on his face suggested that he was very pleased.
