在voa里遇到这样一句话"At celebrations across the country, people count down the final seconds" 不明白across既然是介词,在"At celebrations across the country"中做什么成分?前面这句是从句吗?为什么从句里没有动词做谓语呢?帮指点.

At celebrations across the country：在遍布全国的庆祝活动中。这个应该是做地点状语，但是不是从句。你把前后两句顺序倒一下，就能看出：

across the country是修饰celebrations的，相当于at celebrations (that take place) across the country.
