Since the embedded system is a tiny computer system including storage and memory devices by basic computer infrastructure. Of course, with programming running on it, RAM is an indispensable part while command execution. The ROM in embedded system is often used as a firmware to save basic io/output programs, also known as BIOS on board. Furthermore, if you define the Flash chip in the range of ROM, the large-capacity Flash is often used as main assisted storage device as a harddisk in personal computer. Thus, generally speaking, both ROM and RAM are indispensable in embedded system so far.
