.decide 作“决定”解，用作及物动词（vt.）时，常跟不定式、带连接动词或副词的不定式与从句。如：

John decided to go and see what they had.

We must decide which one to buy.

Check the prices before you decide whether to buy one.

2.decide 跟从句时，若作“决定”、“断定”解，从句要用陈述语气；若作“决心”、“决意”解，从句要用虚拟语气。如：

The chief editor decides which will be the most immportant story on the front page.

We can\'t decide who should open it first.

3.注意：decide 不跟带不定式的复合结构。如不能说：(×）I decided him to do this work. 要说：I decided that he should do this work.

resolve指“打定主意做某事或不做某事”, 如:
I resolve to study English.

Decide is the least specific:

decide,determine这两个词都有“决定”的意思。
decide的含义是“不再迟疑不定”，而determine含义是把某件事确定下来。
to decide to give a dinner party (决定设一次宴会，此语的内涵是：关于设宴会一事不再迟疑了
to determine the guests to be invited (确定要邀请的客人)，此语的内涵意思是：要请哪些人而不请那些人。
在be determined to do…这个固定的结构中，过去分词determined的词义为“下定了决心”。decide的名词为decision,determine的名词为determination.
