我记得这个是在学It用法的时候的东西,都是一些易错句式:
像下面的这些句子用There be,不用It is/was
1.There is no need to do/for ...没有必要……
2.There is a chance that ...有可能……

There be 句型.
如果用 it 做形式主语,后面要跟形容词,再加上非谓语动词做真正的主语,这里的不定式应该是表示目的,做修饰成分,那个need 明显不是形容词，和no 连用应该是名词。
用it 的句子也有，如下:
It is necessary for me to protect you.
对我来说保护你是必要的。
这个it 就是所谓的形式主语了。这里的不定式才是真正的主语。It is necessary 是主谓表结构。

下面是我的外研社的英汉字典上的一些例句：
need
1.不可数名词
需要，必须，责任，义务
There is no need for you to worry.
We felt the urgent need to take a vacation.
There is no need for you to come if you don't want to.

2.可数名词，常用复数。
必需的东西，必要之物

比较一下就可以知道，你的题目是第一种用法。其实从很多美国电影就可以知道，他们说英语也不是语法句型一堆的。所以培养一个英语的语感很重要。在这里就表现为It做形式主语读起来很别扭，而用there 就很顺口。

There is no need意思是“没有必要”，后跟介词for 或不定式。例如： There is no need for alarm. 没有必要惊慌。 There is no need for a guide. 我们旅行不需要向导。 We have plenty of time. There is no need to hurry. 我们有充分的时间，不要那样匆忙。 She is well again. There is no need to worry about her. 她已经痊愈了，没有必要为她担心了。
